Hello, Whitt!

Whitt is a senior tricolor male chi on the hunt for his forever home. Whitts age is unknown as he was found on a construction site without any identification. He is believed to be ten years or older. Whitt weighs 5.6 pounds.

Whitt ADORES his people. Once this little man bonds, he will be your constant shadow. Whitt may walk like a little crab, but hes fully mobile and capable of hunting down his foster mama when he doesnt know where she is. Whitt can often be found lounging under blankets, but if he hears a treat bag rattling, you can be assured hes emerging to get some treats! Whitt takes a few minutes to warm up to strangers, but offer him a treat and hell quickly be there with the pack trying to get some. Whitt gets along well with other small dogs. It is unknown how he would do with children or cats.

Whitt is great at going potty outside provided he is let out often enough. One bad habit Whitt has is that he does mark. Thankfully, he is fine with wearing a belly band when left alone.

Whitt has luxating patellas and unfortunately, due to his heart condition, is not eligible for corrective surgery. With that being said, he is fully mobile and gets around like a champ. He walks a bit like a little crab. He can run in the backyard with his foster siblings, climbs stairs and ramps without hesitation, and has a sassy little personality to go with his looks.

Whitt has heart failure and will need to be on Pimobendan for the rest of his life. At this time he needs no other meds, but is expected that he may need some pain medication for his joints as arthritis progresses. It would not be a bad idea for his forever family to continue him on joint supplements and ensure that he stays as active as possible so that he may continue to build muscle.

Whitt is fully vetted and up to date on his vaccinations. He is neutered and microchipped. He is heartworm negative and on monthly heartworm prevention.

An application must be submitted and approved before a meet-n-greet can be scheduled.

Your current dogs/cats must be spayed or neutered unless a veterinarian has determined that your current pet(s) should not be fixed due to medical reasons. They must also be up-to-date on shots and on HW preventative.

Reference checks and a home visit are required so SE dogs can only be adopted in NC/SC, VA, TN, AL, MD and GA.
