FRIEND - Chihuahua Dog for Adoption in Camarillo, California

male, small, senior
DESCRIPTION
This dog has been added to our Call-to-Action List. He is a sweet senior Chihuahua who is blind, may be hearing impaired, and is managing several age-related medical concerns but he remains friendly, ambulatory, eating, and interested in interacting with us. We're seeking an adopter or rescue partner able to give this little guy a comfortable end of life and pamper him for whatever time he has left. We do feel that humane euthanasia could be an appropriate outcome for him in the near future as he has shown some signs of physical decline in our care, but would love to see him have an opportunity in a final loving home. We will consider a short-term foster placement to help us evaluate Friend’s comfort, daily functioning, and quality of life outside the shelter. This would be an assessment period only and would not include an expectation of long-term foster care or ongoing medical treatment. If Friend is doing well and you would like him to remain in your home beyond the assessment period, we would kindly ask you to consider adoption.
