Nilla - ME - Chihuahua Dog for Adoption in Bryan, Texas

Nilla's story started just eight miles from the Mexico border, where this tiny senior Chihuahua was found wandering the streets as a stray with another Chihuahua. The pair proved surprisingly good at avoiding capture, and it took animal control a couple of weeks to finally get them safely off the streets. For a little white senior lady, Nilla apparently had some serious survival skills!

Thankfully, those days are behind her.

Nilla is now safe, and we're getting to know the sweet girl underneath all that street-smart determination. So far, she's made an excellent first impression. She's very sweet, good with other dogs, and a big fan of belly rubs. We may still be learning the finer details of her personality, but Nilla has already made it clear that affection is absolutely welcome.

The other Chihuahua she was found with has already been adopted, and now we're hoping it's Nilla's turn to catch someone's eye.

We don't know what Nilla's life looked like before she was found or how she ended up wandering so close to the border. That's the frustrating thing about stray dogs: sometimes their first chapters stay a mystery. But Nilla doesn't need us to know where she's been to figure out where she belongs next.

At this stage of life, we'd like her biggest adventures to involve choosing the best spot on the couch, supervising whatever you're eating, finding the warmest blanket in the house, and rolling over to remind you that you've been neglecting your belly-rub responsibilities.

Nilla survived the streets. Now we'd really like to see her get spoiled.
