DESCRIPTION
Benny came to us a few years ago on a one-way ticket out of Texas. He was cared for by us and then adopted out. He was recently returned to our rescue because life circumstances had changed suddenly. The family that had adopted him did wonders for him, though!
When he first arrived, he was very protective of his food, anxious, nervous, and on edge. The scars on his body told a very rough story. The person who had fostered him before took him back in and commented that hes a new dog now! He is very confident, enjoys new people/dogs and even regularly plays with toys! We also took Benny in to get his shots updated, and the vet commented that he looks great and has no health issues!
At just 4 years old. Benny really is a turnkey dog, and a testament to how rescue dogs are resilient and amazing. He loves to do whatever youre doing. Car ride? Yes. Nap time? Yes. Walk along the river? Also, yes. Speaking of walking, he walks really well on a leash, too. In the mornings, he hears his foster moms alarm go off and snuggles right in to get some scritches first thing. He loves mealtime and has learned that he doesnt need to be frantic about food - theres always another meal coming.
Benny did have a dental the first time he was with us where most of his teeth had to be removed because they were diseased. So, he eats wet food or soaked kibble. He is good with other dogs and cats and is neutral towards children who are respectful of his space.
