It's all about the Benjamins! Meet Ben Franklin, a 1-year-old Chihuahua, weighing 11 pounds (as of 8/11/26). This adorable boy and his brother, Matt, were surrendered when their owner was put in assisted living in Tennessee. They hope their future families will give them all the love. As a bonus, they'll give you all the cash!
The best way to win Ben's heart is through food. He's a sweet boy who is both curious and nervous about his surroundings. It may take him a bit to show you his personality, but once he does, it'll be like night and day. When he's not flying kites in thunderstorms or establishing a democracy, Ben enjoys spending time with the person he trusts. He's not used to being held, but with his small size, he can be picked up. His safe space? Crates. His favorite thing? Money, obviously.
Ben has not been leash-walked but he has just learned how to go outside with a dog door. He and his brother were always kept inside with pee pads from what we were told. He hasn't been around large dogs, so he hopes your home has a small one like him or none. He's also seen cats since his owner had a couple of porch cats she would let in during the winter. Ben hasn't met kids yet, but if they're open to taking cash bribes, all the better!
Given some time, patience, and love, Ben is going to be a wonderful companion. This sweet boy deserves a chance at a second home!
All dogs are up to date on vaccinations and spayed/neutered at the time of adoption. All dogs require professional training to become the best family member they can be.

Their information is correct to the best of our abilities and the information we have been given as of the day of posting. From time to time we receive new information/photos of a dog and we do recreate their listing, which means their old listing link will no longer be valid. If you are considering a dog but don't apply right away please make sure to search for the dog by name if the link you have no longer works.
Please note, GDRNE does not guarantee the breed of any dog or puppy unless stated that we have run DNA. All breeds listed are educated estimates. Note that if the dog is listed as an "Out of town pet" there are NOT additional transport fees - it is included in our adoption fee Our dogs are rescued from various situations. It is most likely that both their parents were strays and even if not, mixes of some sort and that their grandparents were mixes as well. The dog may have some genetic material of an American Staffordshire Terrier (pit bull). The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them a breed all their own - a True and adorable American MUTT. If you are interested in this dog, you must submit an application. Great Dog is not a shelter so there is no building you can visit. Our dogs live in private foster homes until adopted.
