SWEET, ADORABLE & FUN: Approx. 4 years old / Approx. 18 lbs. & needs to gain a little weight
Hi there, I’m Olive! I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control along with another dog friend, and I’m so happy to be safe and well cared for here. I’m now in a wonderful foster home learning and having a blast while I wait for my new family to come and adopt me.
• OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I love the dogs in my foster home and want to play with them all the time! So, if you have a nice dog that would enjoy a very playful playmate, let’s meet! I also met other dogs at Mostly Mutts and was super interested. / I’m very interested in the dog smart kitty in my foster home and don’t seem to understand her corrections when I’m being a bit too much, though I do try to mind my manners with her. Not all cats are going to like this as all cats are different and I can’t say how I’ll do with another kitty. / I haven’t met kids yet, but calmer gentle-natured kids may be a fit for me, so if you have children like this, let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over or that may fall on me.
• PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: I came in quite shut down, but with the love and care of the kind volunteers and my foster, I’ve truly blossomed and am thriving now! I’m incredibly sweet, lively, and fun - a happy little soul with lots of puppy-like energy. I can be quite the little live wire and sometimes act more like a young pup who’s still learning her manners, but I’m eager to keep learning and growing. I also have a high prey drive, so I’ll happily chase critters out of the yard! / Energy level: is 6-8 as I love being active and having fun now that I feel comfortable.
• SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I’m starting to work on a few things in my foster home and am learning the ‘place’ command now as well as getting the hang of ‘no’ and ‘ah-ah’ when I pick up a slipper, cushion, or take interest in something that isn’t mine. I still mistake cushions for toys, so I’ll need a little more help in that area. My leash manners are coming along nicely, though keep a good hold of the leash in case I see a critter that needs chasing. My foster always leashes me inside and tells me to ‘stay’ and then ‘OK’ once I’m leashed. Mostly Mutts offers free lifetime training classes for all their adopted dogs, so let’s do some training together. / My crate manners are great in my foster home! At bedtime, I’ll snuggle down in a comfy bed in my crate and I’m off to dreamland till morning. / My foster works from home and has a fenced yard, so they let me out frequently with the other dogs to do my business. Overall, I’m doing pretty well, though sometimes I get distracted and am off chasing a bird, squirrel, etc. and may forget to potty – so just remind me. I’ve only had a few accidents.
• LIKES/DISLIKES: I love belly rubs - it’s still one of my sweet ways of showing I’m being submissive and asking for attention. I also enjoy looking out the window, playing with toys, chews, and Nylabones, and having fun with the other dogs. Ear scratches, rolling in the grass, patrolling the yard, and spending time outside with my foster and dog friends are some of my favorite things, too! / I can be a little sensitive to loud or sudden noises or unexpected clatter. Loud trucks at the shelter scared me, but I’m already improving in all these areas. Like all dogs, I wouldn’t be happy without enough love, attention, exercise, and training.
• MEDICAL: I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed.
I’m a wonderful pup looking for a loving family that will include me in on the fun and take great care of me! My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.
