This is Mama Meadow. A very sweet and small girl looking for her forever family. At only about 15 lbs this girl is full of love and quirkiness.
Meadow is a shy girl at first, but once she deems you trustworthy, she will be your best friend. She had a rough start to life but is slowly learning that the world is not so scary and there's a lot out there for her to explore! While it may take her a while to trust humans, she loves the company of other dogs and loves to bop around outside with her furry companions.
There is not a mean bone in this girls body, she is gentle and kind and ready to show her quirky, fun, and sweet personality to the world.
Meadow came to us with a litter of puppies that she was still nursing, she was afraid and scared and confused. After her babies were weaned, I took her in and have been working with her and trying to show her how to "dog". She is still a nervous girl, but she has made huge progress in the time I've had her. Meadow is just a girl that needs time, space, and patience. If you are willing to take the time to understand her, she will open up to you and be your best friend.
Meadow currently lives in a home with 5 other dogs and her being able to learn from them as well as play and snuggle with them has been a pivotal part in her growth and journey here, so she would definitely do best in a home with other dogs. She is fully crate trained and truly enjoys being in the crate, she sees it as her safe space and likes to go in there when she is feeling overwhelmed.
Meadow enjoys time outside and loves to run around with her furry friends. Due to her nervousness, it is important that she has a safe and secure space outside where she feels comfortable whenever she is out there. She will walk on a leash but struggles sometimes because she is easily startled by sudden noises or people, so we are still working on her leash walking skills.
Overall, Meadow is a very special dog and just needs someone who will take the time to understand her needs and boundaries. She needs someone who is patient and will allow her to take things at her own pace. I have seen the strides she has taken while being in my home, the progress she has made is truly amazing. I have loved watching her grow into her personality and I will continue to work with her and love her until she finds her forever home. This sweet girl deserves all the kindness and gentleness in the world. Her little elf ears and big eyes are hard to resist, she is a truly one of a kind dog.
