Meet Burt — a tiny guy with a big heart and even bigger feelings. At just one year old, this small Chihuahua mix may be short in stature, but his personality fills the room. Burt greets the people he loves with the cutest little tippy-taps and excited hops that are guaranteed to make you smile.

While Burt is eager for affection, he’s still learning that the world is a safe place. He may be a bit unsure at first, but if you give him a moment to approach you on his own terms, you’ll quickly earn his trust — and his devotion. At his core, Burt just wants what every dog deserves: love, security, and a place to truly call home.

Burt enjoys the company of other dogs and will happily play when he’s in the mood, especially outdoors where he can zoom around with his buddies. Like many little dogs, he sometimes believes he’s much bigger than he actually is, and can be a bit wary of larger male dogs. With proper introductions, though, we believe he can do just fine.

He hasn’t quite discovered the joy of toys yet, but he does enjoy gnawing on a good bone — and we suspect his playful side will blossom once he’s settled into a comfortable home. Burt does well with other dogs, cats, and kids, and he keeps his kennel impressively clean.
