RESCUE STORY - My early life got off to a pretty frightening start. Even though I had a so-called "family", the mechanic shop where I lived was full of noise and neglect. As a tiny puppy, I endured mistreatment from a child who cut off pieces of my fur. While the child thought it was a game I was left confused and alone, scary times for a little lady like me! Thank goodness my kind rescuer stepped in to save me! I was transported to the shelter where I was given time to heal, physically and emotionally. My fur has grown back in soft white patches, a hopeful sign of new beginnings!

TEMPERAMENT - Despite my past, my Rescuer says I have sooo much love to give! I love to give and receive affection, especially from humans! Understandably, I can be a little nervous in new situations, but I do not bark or growl. If approached at my level, I will happily shower you with kisses! Mwah!

ENERGY LEVEL - Medium - I absolutely love my daily walks and exploring my surroundings! I also take naps very seriously and am more than happy to snuggle up after a long day! My Rescuer says that I'm highly food motivated, who doesn't love a little treat?! I'm a loving girl who's ready for a fresh start with a real family of my very own, will that be with you?

Note: I am still a puppy! I will need to be at least 8 months old before I can fly to a new home.

GETS ALONG WITH:

Kids – Yes, I do get along well with children, like in this video. However, extra care will need to be taken when considering applicants with small children due to my past experience.
Dogs – Yes, I am polite with other dogs here at the shelter. However, my Rescuer thinks I'd really thrive in a single-dog household. I'd love to be your little sidekick companion!
Cats – Unknown. I don't have any known experience with cats just yet.

PREY DRIVE - Unknown. I'm not too sure how I'll react around squirrels/rabbits etc., so my adopter needs to be prepared and willing to train me through these behaviours, should they arise.

TRAINING:

Leash skills – Work in progress. I'm getting the hang of it, but I will need an adopter who is happy to work with me on my leash manners. A well-fitted harness and some dedicated leash training will help set me up for success! Watch videos of me walking on a leash here and here.
House trained – Work in progress. Frequent potty breaks and positive reinforcement will help me learn housetraining in my new home :)

HEALTH NOTES:

I am spayed (4/19/2026), vaccinated, and microchipped. I will come to Canada with proof of all my vaccines and test records.
I will be tested for Heartworm etc. before flying North.
NOTE: It is not uncommon for rescue dogs to require dental work/cleaning after they are adopted. West Coast Paws does not cover the costs of dental work and/or vet visits. These costs are the financial responsibility of the adopter.

ADOPTION FEE:

My adoption fee is $840.00 CAD including tax (5% GST, 7% PST), which includes my airfare, if a flight volunteer is found directly to Vancouver.
