DESCRIPTION

Meet Ruby: The Rare & Radiant Gem of the East Village

Ruby isn't just a dog; she's a 11-pound masterpiece of grace and goofiness. A delicate Italian Greyhound and Chihuahua mix, this four-year-old treasure was found as a stray, but she's spent every moment since proving she was born for the "lap of luxury" (literally).

The Ruby Personality

Ruby is like a fine vintage—she requires a little patience to appreciate, but once she opens up, she is priceless.

The Devoted Shadow: While she starts off shy, once you've earned her trust, she becomes your loyal, tiny heartbeat at your heels.

A Musical Soul: Forget treats—Ruby prefers a serenade! She famously wags her tail in rhythm whenever she's being sang to.

The "Ruby Whirl": When the joy hits just right, she performs a signature move—a silly, dizzying spinning dance that is guaranteed to brighten your darkest day.

Domestic Life & Progress

Ruby is currently thriving in her East Village foster home, living the socialite life with two adults and two senior Chihuahua siblings.

House Training: She is a wee-wee pad pro! Her foster family is currently mentoring her on the finer points of "outdoor business," and she's a fast learner.

Social Circle: She is a versatile girl! She would be perfectly happy as your one-and-only, or she can coexist beautifully with other canine companions.

The Feline Question: While she hasn't met a cat yet, her gentle nature suggests she'd likely be just fine with a confident kitty friend.

The Perfect Match

Because Ruby is a "limited edition" gem with a skittish side, she's looking for a specific kind of sanctuary:

Environment: A home with a medium activity level.

Co-pilots: Adults only, please! She finds the unpredictable energy of small children a bit overwhelming for her refined tastes.

The Reward: A lifetime of "spins," tail-wagging songs, and the kind of devotion only a rescue can give.

Ready to add some sparkle to your life? Ruby is waiting to spin her way into your heart.

Eligible for our foster-to-adopt program!

Vaccinated for rabies, DHPP, and bordetella, heartworm negative, spayed/neutered and microchipped. Current on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention.

To apply for Ruby, visit our website (www.waggytailrescue.org) for an adoption application. It is important to fill out an application as soon as possible for consideration, and we require a complete application for you to meet an animal. We are currently unable to respond to general email inquiries as an all-volunteer run rescue. If the dog is on our website, they are still available.

Waggytail Rescue CANNOT guarantee the exact age of any adoptable dog, or final size of any of our adoptable puppies. We rely on the information provided to us by veterinarians, shelters, owner surrenders and other circumstances bringing the dog into our rescue.
