Meet Belle

Belle is a beautiful 9-year-old Chesapeake Bay Retriever looking for a loving forever home after experiencing some major life changes.

Earlier this year, Belle's longtime owner-the only person she had ever known-was seriously injured in a car accident and is now permanently wheelchair-bound and unable to care for her. After spending two months in boarding, Belle found her way to a foster home where she has quickly shown everyone what a wonderful companion she is.

Don't let her age fool you-Belle is 9 years old but acts more like a 6- or 7-year-old dog! She is healthy, well cared for, and still has plenty of happy years ahead of her.

Belle's Highlights:
Sweet, smart, and eager to please
Great with other dogs
Would do well as an only dog or in a multi-dog home
Housebroken
Low energy and easy to live with
Excellent car rider-she loves road trips!
Knows how to sit and learns routines quickly
Doesn't jump on people
Goes outside to potty and comes right back in-she simply wants to be near her people
Microchipped, spayed, and up to date on vaccines

A few things to know:
Not crate trained
Pulls a little on leash when excited
No cats (possibly okay with dog-savvy full-grown cats, but not recommended)

Belle weighs 87 pounds and is looking for a family that will cherish her as much as she will cherish them. She has been through a lot recently, but her sweet spirit remains unchanged. All she wants is a comfortable place to call home and people to love.
