Ella - Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Dog for Adoption in Murphysboro, Illinois

What screams perfect, new best friend better than the sweet face of a Cavy!? Pretty much nothing. And age is just a number! This girl may be your typical 8.5 year old, Cavalier couch potato but she's also got plenty of incredible (we like to think best) years left to be showered in love! And oh how this girl deserves it!

Ella has spent her entire life living as a breeding dog in a kennel. She had fleas, Ehrlichia, horribly infected ears and awful dental disease when she came to us. She has never known what it's like to be cherished by a family, spoiled by her humans or walk around knowing her picture is the background of someone's iPhone. It's hard for us to even imagine. 1. Because it breaks our freaking hearts. 2. Because Ella is something of a dream. She is calm and trusting. She is gentle and seeks affection. She is curious and happy. Despite never knowing life outside of raising puppies, we've watched pieces of her playful, silly and perfectly Cavy personality come to life...and we're obsessed with her!

Cats, dogs, kids...bring it on. Ella is happy to be apart of any action, any household, any adventure, as long as there's a nice place to nap when she's had her fill and no one will be disturbed by her, ummm, precious snoring at the end of a long day...or morning...or 20 minutes. :-) Looking for low key and indescribably easy going? Well you've come to the right bio! She will keep you laughing though. Leave food where she can reach it? You just might catch a fluffy tail trotting off with your hot dog. Like the dog's toys organized? She may pull every one out of that HomeGoods basket and leave them wherever she desires. We think she likes to count them and remember they all belong to her! Have a cabinet at her level with something tasty in it? We wouldn't be surprised if she learned how to open that door one of these days. She is full of spunk and sass that lights up between nap time.

Ella is potty trained and not had any accidents in her foster home. She is also excellent in a crate. She is a quiet, polite girl and honestly, the loudest we ever hear her is when she's sound asleep. She loves to wander in the yard and sun bathe. She gets excited to meet new dog friends and while we're pretty certain she doesn't know what they're barking at, she's still totally down to run beside them and act fully in the know, quietly of course. One look at this girl and it's hard not to be smitten. Get to know her and suddenly you're owned by a senior Cavalier who doesn't know she's a day over 2 and ready to live the rest of her life to the absolute fullest!

Ella's adoption fee includes her spay, dental with extractions, senior bloodwork, microchip, heartworm/tick borne disease testing, vaccines, dewormings and flea/tick/heartworm prevention. It also includes her treatment for Ehrlichia, which she is currently on medication for and will go with her adopter to finish her full course.
