Akira's story began with heartbreak. She was rescued by a good samaritan after being thrown from the back of a moving car by her former owner. Despite being discarded and let down by people, Akira has shown incredible resilience and is ready to discover what a loving forever home feels like.

Since coming into our care, Akira has been learning that people can be kind, patient, and trustworthy. She can be a little shy when meeting new people and in new environments, but she quickly flops over on her back when you say hi to her. Once she has time to adjust, we are confident her playful and affectionate personality will start to shine.

Akira is a medium-energy girl who enjoys having fun without being overly demanding. She is family-friendly, has a soft mouth when taking treats or playing, and gets along well with other dogs. With patience, love, and a gentle introduction to her new surroundings, Akira will reward her family with loyalty, companionship, and a heart full of gratitude.
