Kai - Cattle Dog and Mixed Breed Dog for Adoption in Gainesville, Florida
KAI
Cattle Dog, Mixed Breed
🇺🇸
Gainesville, Florida
August 20th
male, medium, adult
DESCRIPTION
Kai is a 2 year old, 29lb herding breed who puts the ‘heel’ in heeler!
He is tiny, he is spunky, he is looking for a savvy, adult only home that can help him channel his grit, enthusiasm, and athleticism into something constructive. While Kai does enjoy playing with other dogs and has no apparent preferences between males/females, he does like to control movement when he feels like the group hang isn’t going according to plan (and he is the keeper of the plans, no you are not allowed to look), so he will benefit from an adopter who understands and can guide his ‘hall monitor’ tendencies. In a home setting, Kai rides fabulously in the car, is potty trained, and is reportedly prone to jumping straight up into the air like a kangaroo when he feels a walk is too slow. He is always down for a splash in the kiddie pool or a rowdy game of tug at the shelter, and overall will make a wonderful little adventure buddy for a fellow adrenaline junkie.

ABOUT: CATTLE DOG DOG BREED
The Cattle Dog is a diligent and robust herding breed known for its agility, intelligence, and hardworking nature. Originating in Australia, Cattle Dogs are highly energetic and require ample exercise and mental stimulation. With their remarkable problem solving skills and unwavering loyalty, they excel in various canine activities and make excellent companions for active owners. Their distinctive blue or red coat, sturdy build, and alert expression reflect their heritage as versatile working dogs.
The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
