Felipe - Cattle Dog and Mixed Breed Dog for Adoption in Austin, Texas

On top of being absolutely gorgeous, Felipe would definitely win the Most Interesting-Looking Dog award. He has such unique markings, and his color seems to change depending on what side you're looking at him from.

A lover of water and anything food-related, this silly pup is constantly keeping his friends entertained with his fun-loving antics. Felipe will catch a case of the zoomies out of nowhere, racing around with his tongue hanging out and his tail swinging around in a happy circle! He's full of amusing quirks like how he drinks his water lying down and the adorable way he rolls around on the grass and the carpet to give himself some nice scritches.

While he can be quite the goofball, Felipe also appreciates his nap time and is more than content to lounge by your side while sneaking in sweet kisses. He really loves spending time with his people - he follows them around like an adorable shadow and prefers to ride shotgun on car rides.

When you stick a treat inside a Kong, this smart pup takes the challenge very seriously, bringing it into a shady corner of the play pen, then laying down to get to work! He's also thriving in APA!'s Total Obedience Program (TOP), which is modeled after the AKC's Canine Good Citizen (CGC) test.

As a TOP dog, Felipe has a personalized training plan and works with a volunteer trainer several times a week to help him learn skills like walking nicely on leash, sitting calmly when approached by strangers or other dogs, staying in a sit or down until told "free," coming when called and "place", which means he will go to a specific place in your home on command. As a part of APA's Total Obedience Program you can work with APA staff to continue to build a training relationship with Felipe after adoption and master all the TOP dog skills together.
