Hiya! Ember here! Did my cute little face draw you in? Well I have even more great things about my personality that make me a catch!

I joined LSR on July 10 as I made my journey to Illinois from the streets of Texas. I raised 7 babies, who are now on their journey to find their forever homes! Now it is my turn to find a forever family!

I am a petite cattle dog mix. My fosters think I have a little bit of terrier and doxie mixed in there. I am only 25 lbs, fully grown - just the perfect size!

I absolutely ADORE people - all ages and sizes! I get so excited to greet my foster parents when they come home. I have not had any accidents in the house and I am crate trained. I enjoy going for car rides and playing in the yard with all my doggy friends. I am still getting used to the whole leash and walks thing - it is pretty foreign to me still as I was used to roaming the streets.

We treat these dogs as individuals with needs and to that end all of our dogs will have been in fosters no less than two weeks, they will have at least started training if not attend weekly classes and get daily training at home with the fosters!

Which means our longest residents will be the best trained, as long as they're with us we're going to keep socializing and working through any issues they may have.

When you adopt from us you will have a very clear picture of the dog you're meeting and on going support!

Our Fees are as follows:
Senior dogs over 7 are $450
Adult dogs are $650
Puppies under 1 year are $800
Specific breeds are $900

With each adoption you will be...
1. Given up to four hours of free training (from the foster and coordinator),
2. Full medical report of all findings,
3. All of the supplies needed for a new dog as we attain these for the care of each dog,
4. A full run down on their behavioral status, where they started, where they are and how far is left to go. This will be detailed in a training plan from us about what they can or cannot handle well and it will be discussed as much as needed.

We fully vet all of our dogs which is reflected in our adoption fee. On average we will pay about 600 dollars in medical per dog. Every dog gets a full blood panel, fecal/urine check, heartworm & tick panel and treatment if required, spayed/neutered, all shots and boosters, along with anything specific to their needs.

FOSTER NEEDED!
If you are interested in FOSTERING instead, please complete an application online at https://laststoprescue.com/volunteer/. Fostering means you will temporarily house this dog while we wait for their forever family to come along. Fostering is free as we provide all the basic supplies and support you need. Fosters are asking to transport the dog to vet appointments, adoption shows, or any additional events if your schedule allows. Fosters must be located in Illinois.
