If you're looking for a companion who will attach himself to your heart and never want to be far from your side, Porter is your guy-or should we say Cupid? This little lovebug is sweet, smart, funny, and full of personality, and he has a tail that never seems to stop wagging!
Porter starts his day with a potty break, breakfast, and some playtime. After about 15 minutes of play, he heads outside again, followed by another hour or so of playing on and off. Once he's had a chance to get his puppy energy out, he is more than ready to settle into your lap for a good cuddle and nap. He loves playing with his foster dog sibling and would be thrilled to have another playful dog in his forever home. He also loves kids and enjoys being around people, making him a wonderful potential fit for a family or someone who is home often.
Porter is definitely a people puppy. As long as he knows his person is nearby, he is happy whether he's playing with his toys or snoozing in a lap. And if you get up to go to the bathroom? You can bet Porter is coming with you! He just wants to be wherever his people are.
New people are no problem for this friendly little guy. He loves everyone and everything, and his constantly wagging tail makes sure everyone knows it. He is curious, social, and always ready to make a new friend.
Porter is still learning about the world and what it means to be a puppy. He can be a little vocal when first settling into his puppy pen, but after about 15 minutes, he settles down and sleeps through the night. He usually wakes around 6 a.m. for some morning activity before heading back down for another nap. He can be startled by noises outside, especially with the recent windy weather, but otherwise he is a confident and happy little guy. And if there's food involved? Even better-Porter absolutely LOVES food!
Playtime is pretty much anything goes. Porter doesn't discriminate when it comes to toys, and he's still learning that not everything is meant to be chewed. Toys, chew items, and even a foster parent's hand can look equally tempting to this curious puppy! He's learning the difference between appropriate and inappropriate things to chew and is making progress every day.
He is also proving to be a very smart little guy. Porter learned "sit" almost immediately, although his version is more of a "dancing sit" because he gets so excited about the possibility of a treat! He has had very few accidents outside of his puppy pen and has already learned to let his foster family know when he needs to go. He even figured out how to use the doggy door after watching the resident dog a few times. He hasn't quite connected the dots that the doggy door is for going outside to potty rather than simply another fun place to play, but he's getting there!
Above all, Porter is one of those puppies who makes you smile just by being himself. He is incredibly intelligent, affectionate, playful, and funny, and he has a special way of making himself right at home in your heart. This little Cupid is truly one of a kind and is ready to find someone who will love having a devoted little shadow by their side.
