Meet Jerry, a sweet little blond girl who is long, low, and absolutely adorable! Jerry is a gentle soul who is still learning that the world can be a safe place. She is very shy and remains easily startled by new surroundings, but with patience and time, she is beginning to trust her foster and let her sweet personality shine through.
Jerry sleeps through the night, does great in a crate, and appears to be potty trained with no accidents in her foster home when kept on a schedule. She is still working on her leash confidence and may freeze or become frightened in unfamiliar places, so a patient adopter will be important as she continues to build confidence.
She has been excellent with dogs of all sizes and seems to do fine around cats, although her timid nature means she is still getting used to everything. Because she can be skittish, she would likely do best in a quieter home and may not be the best fit for very young children.
The best part about getting to know Jerry is earning her trust. She loves to be rubbed, and once she feels comfortable with you, she will even scoot a little closer when you stop-as if to politely ask for more! Jerry will need a patient family willing to give her time to decompress and come out of her shell, but for the right person, this sweet little low-rider will be such a rewarding companion.
ABOUT: CAROLINA DOG DOG BREED
The Carolina Dog, a primitive breed known for its wild ancestry, is a medium sized, agile, and intelligent dog originally found roaming freely in the Southeastern United States. With a distinctive appearance marked by erect ears, a bushy tail, and a sable coat, Carolina Dogs are highly adaptable, affectionate with their families, and wary of strangers, making them excellent watchdogs. Their natural hunting instincts and independence require consistent training and an active lifestyle to thrive in a loving home environment.
The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
