DESCRIPTION
Meet Aurelia! She is a 1 1/2 years old and believed to be a can corso mastiff mix. This girl has a story all of her own and while all we know is that she was running around on her own for at least two months, her background is completely unknown. After many sightings of her on the property of local residents and being seen from the highway multiple times, this girl had the attention of many in the community. Local residents help set feeding stations and tried to coax this girl into a safe place where she could get help. It wasn't until a live trap was set and one single feeding station was set that this girl was finally caught. After getting to AWL, she showed that all she was looking for were people who she could trust and that would care for her. In our care we took off over 50 ticks, vaccinated, microchipped, spayed, and most importantly have been teaching her that she is now safe and she can trust again. She has shown us her playful personality and is the definition of a velcro dog when she gets to know you, wanting nothing more than to be by your side! It was also discovered during her spay that at one time her left hip was fractured, while we may never know how that came to be, we do know with a good joint supplement and a home that will make sure she gets pain meds in the future if needed, this girl will be just fine. She hasn't let an old fracture slow her down and will jump straight up to love on you given the chance. Aurelia is now ready for her happy ending and if you have another dog she would love that even more! Just make sure your dog loves to play just as much as Aurelia! We may not know what the first year of Aurelia's life was like but we know that her future is looking pretty good and she is ready to meet her new family! If you think you have patience and love to help Aurelia continue to get use to the world and to come out of her shell, then come meet her today!Give the shelter a call at (574) 267-3008 or email them at info@awlwarsaw.com if you have any questions about me!
