At almost 1 year old and weighing just under 70 pounds, Gordo is a handsome Cane Corso, Mastiff, and Bulldog mix with a soft heart and plenty of growing left to do. While he may already look like a big dog, he's still very much a puppy at heart and is learning that the world isn't such a scary place.

Gordo came to BENCHS after he, his mother Sasha, and another dog were abandoned at a boarding kennel. Despite the uncertainty he's experienced at such a young age, he has shown us that beneath his cautious nature is a sweet, gentle soul who simply needs a little extra time to feel safe.

One of the first things you'll notice about Gordo is his incredibly beautiful eyes. He's what we like to call a soul gazer-when he looks at you, it feels like he's looking right into your heart. Once you've earned his trust, Gordo has the sweetest way of showing his affection. He loves to gently rest his forehead against yours, quietly soaking in the moment, and despite his size, he's convinced he's a lap dog. Those quiet moments of connection are where Gordo truly shines.

Gordo is a sensitive boy who is currently working on building his confidence. He thrives with patient, gentle people who allow him to move at his own pace and celebrate the little victories along the way. When people move too quickly or expect too much too soon, Gordo can become worried and choose to avoid the situation.
