Meet Cindy Bear a 2 year old 12lb Terrier mix
Shes the kind of dog who makes you feel special just by choosing to sit next to you—which, once she trusts you, she plans to do quite often.
Her story started in a scary place. At the shelter, she was so frightened and overwhelmed that she was placed on the euthanasia list. She wasn't a bad dog or a difficult dog. She was simply terrified and unable to show anyone who she really was.
We pulled her from the shelter and into foster care, where she was given something every scared dog deserves: time, patience, and a safe place to decompress. Little by little, the worried shelter dog began to blossom, and the sweet soul hiding underneath came forward.
She loves being close to her people and is happiest curled up beside you, soaking in all the affection she can get. She has a calm, gentle way about her and doesnt ask for much—just a cozy spot and maybe a little room on the couch. Though knowing her, shell probably start with one corner and slowly work her way into your lap.
Shes quiet in the house and comes with some excellent roommate credentials: she is house trained, crate trained, walks beautifully on leash, and is eager to learn. She wants to make her person happy and responds best to gentle encouragement. Harsh words are not her style. Honestly, they shouldnt be anyones style—but especially not with this tender little Fluff ball
Walks are one of her favorite ways to enjoy the world. Shes happy strolling around the neighborhood, sniffing through a park, or accompanying you on a relaxed weekend outing she enjoys care ride and loves being in a carrier . She doesnt need to climb Mount Tam before breakfast or maintain an exhausting social calendar. A peaceful walk followed by quality couch time make her very happy!
New situations can still make her cautious, so shes looking for someone who won't rush her. She may need a little time to settle in and understand that shes truly home. But watching her confidence grow is part of what makes loving her so special. First comes the careful glance. Then the tiny tail wag. Before long, shes leaning into you and quietly arranging herself into the most comfortable spot beside—or directly on top of—you.
She would thrive with a patient, kind adopter who appreciates a softer personality. Someone who understands that trust is earned, that progress doesnt always happen overnight, and that the best relationships are often the ones that unfold slowly.
She has already survived the hardest chapter of her life. Now shes ready for the good stuff: peaceful walks, cozy naps, gentle praise, snacks she absolutely believes she earned, and a person who will never make her wonder whether she is safe again.
