Meet Cookie!
Cookie is a 75-pound sweetheart with a very simple idea of what makes a good life: having someone to hang with.
Cookie is an 8-year-old Bulldog mix who found herself at an overcrowded local shelter after her family could no longer afford her care. Even though people expressed interest in her at adoption events, no one ever came back for her. Her stay kept getting longer, which is especially concerning in a shelter that was already over capacity.
Thankfully, Cookie had some wonderful people in her corner. Volunteers and shelter staff continued pulling for her and made sure she eventually found her way into rescue. Now she is safe with New Orleans Bulldog Rescue, and we’re excited to help her find the family she’s been waiting for.
Cookie is a sweet, gentle, friendly girl who seems happiest when she has someone nearby to be her best buddy. She’s lower-key and affectionate, and she isn’t looking for a complicated life. She just wants a family to hang out with, enjoy some companionship, and be part of the family.
If your idea of the perfect dog is a mellow lady who would rather spend time with you than keep you on your toes or give you a workout, Cookie may be your lady! She’s a friend to everyone in the household, including dogs, cats, and kids.
Cookie does have some masses that our veterinarian will be evaluating. We suspect they are harmless, but we want to have them properly assessed so we know exactly what we’re dealing with and can make sure Cookie gets the care she needs. She has no other health issues.
