DESCRIPTION
Helena is a shy, reserved pup. She was surrendered to the shelter from a home with too many pets to properly care for, and she arrived carrying both emotional uncertainty and significant vision loss. Helena has no sight in one eye and very limited — if any — sight in the other, which makes the world feel big and unfamiliar to her.
Despite all of this, Helena is doing well overall, she moves carefully, listens closely, and takes her time getting to know new people. Right now, the shelter is a lot for her — new sounds, new smells, new routines — but even in her worry, she shows a quiet bravery that makes everyone here root for her.
Helena would do best in a calm, patient home where she can feel safe, learn the layout at her own pace, and build trust with someone who understands that love doesn’t always bloom overnight. With gentle guidance and predictable routines, she will begin to relax, open up, and show the sweet dog she truly is.
She may not see the world clearly, but she feels it deeply — and she deserves a person who will help her navigate it with kindness.
💛 If you have a peaceful home and a heart ready to nurture a tender, deserving girl, Helena is waiting for you.
Helena is 1yr old and weighs 36lbs.
