Bonnie - Boxer and Black Labrador Retriever Dog for Adoption in Scituate, Massachusetts

Bonnie came to us with Buck when their owner was no longer able to care for them due to a change in circumstances. Bonnie is about 5-6 years old and could stand to lose a little weight (can't we all?). She likes to walk and play in our pen here at the shelter. She walks nicely on leash, unless she spots a bunny or a squirrel and then she can be a puller. She is very sweet and likes to hang out and get pets, and would likely make a great couch buddy when you are watching Love Island.

Bonnie came in with some masses on her side, so we removed those and she also received a dental while she was here.

As we mentioned, she came in with Buck, so if you are looking for a pair, they would be a great one, but she can also go home alone. (They like each other but are not bonded). Because of her interest in small animals, she'd likely do best in a home without cats.

We never know how quickly a pet will be adopted. Therefore, if you are interested in a pet but want to see them during our shelter open hours prior to filling out an application, we strongly recommend that you email us at adopt@scituateanimalshelter.org before visiting the shelter to ensure they are still there.

Open hours are Wednesdays 1:30-6pm, and Saturdays and Sundays 10am-2pm for you to come view our adoptable pets. You can apply for animal at the shelter during our open hours or online by emailing adopt@scituateanimalshelter.org and asking for an application. Adoption fees allow our non-profit to continue to help pets in need.

Meet and greets with animals are scheduled after applications have been processed and weve determined you are the best fit. We do not operate on a first come, first served basis.

Boxers are loyal, affectionate, and good natured companions, making them an ideal family pet. They are intelligent, playful, and love to be around people, making them excellent with children. Boxers require consistent training, plenty of exercise, and socialization to thrive. With their strong work ethic and protective instincts, boxers excel in various roles, including as service dogs, therapy dogs, and in dog sports.
