Two weeks ago, this young boxer was dumped at a CT shelter—malnourished, covered in sores and urine burns, with nails so long they caused his toes to splay. And he was terrified.

He hadn’t even turned a year old yet.

Today, Polo is finally learning what it feels like to be safe.

In just two weeks, he’s put some much-needed weight on those skinny bones, his fur is growing back, and he’s beginning to trust the people caring for him.

He’s learning that food will come. Water will always be there. Gentle hands won’t hurt him. And nobody is going to abandon him.

Polo is still a little insecure, and honestly... who can blame him? But he gets braver every single day. He’s doing well with crate training and slowly figuring out this whole “being a dog” thing. ❤ï ̧

We think Polo would enjoy living with a calm female dog, older children 12+, and a fenced yard. He’s definitely a homebody and would love a family that isn’t gone for long stretches—work-from-home crew, anyone?

He’s vaccinated, parasite-free, and will be neutered once he gains a few more pounds.

Most importantly, Polo finally gets to grow up. And after the start he had, that feels pretty darn special.
