Hunter (Bonded with Luna) - Boxer and Mixed Breed Dog for Adoption in Elizabeth, Illinois

I have some pretty intense eyes, but don't be fooled I'm a big sweetie. I love to play and run outside, go for car rides and am house trained. I can be standoffish with people I don't know, but when I do get to know you be prepared for the kisses and hugs. I know how to sit, stay, and shake hands, so I should be able to learn other commands quickly for my new family. I came to Safe Haven with my best pal Luna, she's my best friend and we want to do everything together. I have been around children and really like them, if your family is looking for two dogs look no further Luna and I are the total package. Submit an application today for us!

I am 6 years old and weigh 75 pounds, Luna weighs 47 and she's 4 years old.

The boxer is a medium to large sized dog breed known for its muscular build, distinctive square head, and energetic personality. Boxers are loyal, affectionate, and good natured companions, making them an ideal family pet. They are intelligent, playful, and love to be around people, making them excellent with children. Boxers require consistent training, plenty of exercise, and socialization to thrive. With their strong work ethic and protective instincts, boxers excel in various roles, including as service dogs, therapy dogs, and in dog sports.

The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
