Hi everyone, I am known as Patches through the rescue, but I respond best to Toby. I am a young playful dog who may be shy at first but once I know you I will wiggle my butt until I cannot walk in a straight line. I love my four-legged friends and I really need a playful buddy to keep me busy! My confidence is a little low, but hopefully your four-legged friend can help build that back up to be the happy dog I am! Once I know and trust my humans, prepare for me to want to cuddle on the couch or even in the bed! I sleep best in bed but I also do well in my crate at night.

Adoption Process At a Glance.

- Step 1 – Fill out the Adoption Application
- Step 2 – Preliminary Screening by Application Team which includes a Landlord Check (if applicable) and Vet Check
- Step 3 – Meeting with appropriate boxer(s)
- Step 4 – Home Visit
- Step 5 – Adoption Day

Adoption Requirements At a Glance.

* You must be 21 years of age.
* You must have a fenced in yard (exceptions can be made for certain dogs).
* All current pets in the household MUST be spayed/neutered and current on shots (yes, we do call and verify this information).
* Applicants with young children will be required to answer additional questions.
* Applicants that rent must provide landlord contact info. NCBR requires verbal landlord approval for all renters.
* We no not do adopt female boxers into homes with other large breed female dogs.
* We do not adopt out dogs as gifts.
* All pets must be INDOOR companions!
* NCBR does not adopt out of state, except northwest Nevada.

The boxer is a medium to large sized dog breed known for its muscular build, distinctive square head, and energetic personality. Boxers are loyal, affectionate, and good natured companions, making them an ideal family pet. They are intelligent, playful, and love to be around people, making them excellent with children. Boxers require consistent training, plenty of exercise, and socialization to thrive. With their strong work ethic and protective instincts, boxers excel in various roles, including as service dogs, therapy dogs, and in dog sports.
