Kimber arrived at our partner shelter in August as a stray, heartbreakingly thin and covered in fleas and ticks. It is hard not to wonder how long this sweet boy had been waiting for someone to notice him. Since then, Kimber has been quietly fighting his way back. He has gained weight, is finally free of fleas and ticks, and is learning—one gentle hand, one full bowl, and one safe nap at a time—that life can be kind. Kimber may be young, but his face carries the soulful look of an old man who has seen too much...and probably believes dinner should be served promptly and pillows should be fluffed to his liking. The stress of his past still shows, but so does something even stronger: hope. What Kimber needs now is not just a home, but a soft place to land and a family who will make sure he never feels forgotten again. This loving, deserving boy has survived the hard chapter. Now he is ready for the beautiful part—the part where he is chosen, cherished, and finally gets to be someone’s beloved dog.
