DESCRIPTION

Chop would do great in most any home. He needs a little work on basic commands and recall so should not be allowed off-leash. He is very friendly with other dogs but should not be around cats as he hyper-focuses on them and gives chase if they run.
Have not assessed with children yet, but has a very gentle, submissive temperament and has shown no signs of resource guarding or reactivity so we believe he would do fine with kids of any age.
Picked up as a stray and brought to Gwinnett County AC, but was never reclaimed. Has been in the shelter at least 4 months before we took him home to foster. Shelter staff and volunteers describe him as sweet, playful, and affectionate, but a bit a simpleton :). He's cute!
Age: 5 years
Weight: 48lbs
Temperament: Gets along with other dogs, kids but not cats
Training: Just received, he is being assessed
Vetting: neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, heartworm negative and on prevention

To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption) for caretakers to review. Once your application is approved, we will bring the adoptable pet to your home for a preliminary visit.
