This dog is currently out of state but will be transported to New England shortly with no additional travel costs. The long distance adoption process includes talking to the foster they are living with in the south. Roughly 90% of our dogs are successfully long distance adopted and 10% adopted locally.

Meet Tanzanite Gem, a 10-week-old Boxer/Hound mix, weighing 16 pounds (as of 2/11/26). Tanzanite (or Tan if that's easier to pronounce) and his siblings are known as the GEM litter! While they were strays that were surrendered in Tennessee, they know that "treasure is what they are" (like the Bruno Mars song!) The GEM litter can't wait to add some glitter and sparkle to your life 'cause let's be real, you need it!
Tanzanite is a soft-natured boy with a quiet confidence. When he's not helping you negotiate selling your gold to a shady pawn shop owner, you can find him observing his surroundings for any treasure or good sales. This boy's thoughtfulness will never steer you wrong so don't take the shady deal!
Tanzanite loves being near his people so you can expect puppy kisses and cuddles to make everyday brighter. He’s the kind of boy who bonds deeply and grows into a loyal, steady companion. Bonus points is that he also gets along with dogs and loves kids! He hasn't had experience with cats yet, but he's sure his puppy dog eyes can win them over too.
Since the GEM pups are still babies, all they ask from their future family is patience and love as they master the ABCs of puppy training (leash walking, crates, potty and commands!) The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them a breed all their own - a True and adorable American MUTT. If you are interested in this dog, you must submit an application. Great Dog is not a shelter so there is no building you can visit. Our dogs live in private foster homes until adopted.
