After spending time surviving on the streets, home life is still new to him. Every day he gets a little braver and a little more comfortable. He's about 98% potty trained, absolutely loves being outside, and is happiest exploring the yard or soaking up the sunshine.
He's also learning that gentle pats, kind words, and affection are safe. While he isn't quite ready to fully lean into all the love yet, he's making steady progress. Watching him trust a little more each day is incredibly rewarding.
Poe doesn't need perfection—he just needs someone willing to meet him where he is and celebrate every small victory along the way. The family that gives him the time and patience he deserves will get to experience something truly special: earning the love of a dog who has fought hard to survive and is finally learning what it means to be safe.
