Meet Petey! This handsome 4-year-old, 20-pound Boston Terrier is finally ready to find the forever family he has always deserved.

When Petey came to us, we learned his story wasn't exactly what we were told. It quickly became clear that life hadn't been very kind to him. He arrived underweight with tummy issues likely caused by stress, poor nutrition, and the unstable life he had been living. The good news is that with proper care, good food, and lots of love, Petey has come a long way.

Now it's time for his happy ending.

Petey likes most other dogs and would enjoy having a canine companion, but he'd also be happy soaking up all the attention himself. He's playful, although he's still figuring out how to just be a dog. Watching him discover toys and play is pretty special.

He walks nicely on a leash, loves to cuddle, and is happiest curled up next to his people.

Petey is still nervous around men. He isn't aggressive at all. He simply runs away when he's scared. His new family will need to be patient and give him the time he needs to build trust. Once he feels safe, his sweet personality shines through.

Petey has been through enough. Now he deserves a family that will show him what love, security, and kindness look like for the rest of his life.

As with all dogs, Petey will need time to adjust to a new home and its expectations. His future families should understand that pet ownership is a lifelong commitment—one that requires daily exercise, continued training, and socialization. Remember: a good dog is a tired dog!
