Appearance: River is what is known as a "double merle" (a genetic trait from breeding two merle dogs). While his eyes are smaller and his pupils aren't perfectly round, his vision and hearing are totally fine! He just has a unique, charming look all his own.

Ideal Home Requirements
Because River is an athletic Border Collie mix, he needs a secure environment to keep him safe and happy:
Secure Yard Needed: River is quite the jumper and can easily clear a 5-foot fence! His ideal home will have a privacy fenced yard or an underground electronic fence system to ensure he stays safely on the property.
Loving Family: A home where he’ll be showered with affection, gentle guidance, and plenty of cozy spots on the couch.
River is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. He is on Simparica Trio heartworm/flea/tick preventative. He will have a vet exam, negative fecal test and health certificate for travel.
We transport our rescue dogs to the New England area states. Interested in adopting but not sure how it all works if you're out of state? We will be happy to walk you through the process. We host video chat calls with our rescues and potential adopters so you can get an idea of the dog's personality and mannerisms. We have an in depth application that helps us make a good match between adopter and rescue. We can find the location nearest to you where our transport stops.
