BACKGROUND: Mell is the definition of a gentle, easy-going companion. This sweet senior boy has wonderful manners, a calm presence, and a quiet way of making himself right at home by your side. Though he is deaf, Mell navigates the world beautifully and responds very well to routines, body language, and affection from the people he trusts. He enjoys the simple things in life, midday naps stretched out in a patch of sunshine, soft pets, and simply being close to his favorite humans. Mell has a peaceful spirit that makes him an incredibly comforting companion to have around. If you’re looking for a polite, loving dog who asks for very little besides kindness and companionship, Mell would love nothing more than a cozy spot near you to call home.

COMPATIBILITY: Based on our evaluation, we feel that Mell has the potential to get along with other dogs. Mell would do best in a home without cats.

MEDICAL NEEDS: Mell has some mild stiffness in his back end that appears to be consistent with normal aging. At this time, he seems comfortable overall, though he may benefit from over-the-counter joint supplements in the future to help keep him feeling his best. Mell is also deaf, but he adapts wonderfully and navigates the world with ease.
