Border Collie Dogs Available for Adoption in Bend, Oregon

MEET JANGO – An affectionate dog who is willing to please!
Are you looking for a dog who loves to cuddle? Jango has a gentle heart and a desire to be close to her people. She’s a smart girl who is eager to please and enjoys learning, even though she hasn’t had a lot of formal training.

Jango is a three-year-old (April 3, 2023), tri-colored Border Collie, weighing 55 lbs. She knows basic commands like sit and down and has done some leash walking. Jango is kennel trained, respectful of fencing (no digging or climbing), and sleeps inside at night. She is housebroken. She would do best with someone who has the time and heart to continue working with her and give her the one-on-one connection she’s looking for. She truly wants her person.

JANGO DOES WELL WITH:
• Other dogs – She has been around other herding dogs and enjoys playing.
• Kids – She has been around kids from 6 years old to teens and has done well with all.
• Adults – She will alert bark but then is very friendly when people come in. She has never shown aggression to humans.

JANGO IS UNKNOWN WITH:
• Cats – There are barn cats at her current home, but she has not been given access to them. Given her issues with livestock, we would have concern about cats.

JANGO DOES NOT DO WELL WITH:
• Livestock – IMPORTANT – Jango and her littermate are known to have killed three lambs, on separate occasions. It is believed that her littermate was the instigator, but she participated. We will not place Jango in any home with livestock.

Jango is spayed, and up to date on her vaccinations. She will be microchipped before adoption. Jango is currently in Prineville, Oregon. Her adoption fee is $400.
