BIRDIE is a 6.5-year-old female Border Collie mix. She works hard to be the very best dog possible; she always wants to please her people and be close by. She never misses an opportunity to bring over a ball for fetch (outside or sitting around at home). She loves to run and swim, or just sit in the shade in the yard. She is extremely smart.
Medical history: spayed, UTD on vaccines, microchip, good health, gets teeth brushed
Ideal home: Not suitable for homes with young children or small animals. Could possibly do well with another large dog with a calm temperament. Needs a fenced yard, regular walks/runs/hikes/swims.

She has been a wonderful dog for us as a couple, but now with our young child she no longer has an ideal home life.

Notes about Birdie -
- Birdie is extremely smart and wants to please. We envision Birdie living her best life in a home that allows her opportunities to be highly active and to use those amazing smarts.
- She is highly trainable and would likely do well with agility courses or the like.
- Well trained in household activities - does not beg or eat from coffee tables, stays off furniture, knows that certain areas of the house are off-limits, enters/exits the house and car with a command ("ok"), waits to eat until a handshake and command, poops outside only in allowed areas (not in the lawn).
- She is incredibly loyal, loves to cuddle, wants to stay near her people, and wants to please more than anything.
- Loves tennis ball fetch, swimming and walking/running
- Great car companion, travels well
- Not OK with small dogs or other small animals (prey drive)
- Cannot play at dog parks
- Feels nervous around young children who are fast-moving and unpredictable
- She's been in a very loving home
