Josie is an adorable mixed breed pup who seems to be some kind of black mouth cur mix. . She is a gentle and sweet and loving girl who is just a delight. Josie and her sisters Jade and Journey were part of a group of puppies that were sadly being given away for free at a local Walmart in Mississippi. The woman who runs the rescue Wags of Monroe County couldn’t bear to see these puppies going to people with no vetting and so she scooped up the remaining three girls.

Since then, the puppies have thrived, they love to run and play with all the dogs at the rescue and then cuddle up together in a puppy pile to nap. They have all been spayed and have their vaccinations and are all healthy happy girls.
Josie’s sister Jade has just been adopted and now it’s sweet Josie’s turn. She is still in Mississippi but we are hoping to send her and her sister Journey up to the northeast on Saturday, May 8., Josie is very likely to be very shy. At first, it is a big transition from the rescue to family, life and new people and experiences. She needs a family will be understanding and give her time to adjust.
We know these girls will all make wonderful family dogs, but are fine to consider a foster to adopt. Josie is such a gentle, calm girl, we know she will be a loving member of the family.

A little about Wags and adoption fees: The woman who runs Wags takes care of almost 200 dogs completely on her own, she finds stray dogs constantly and find it impossible to turn them away.
Adoption fees are the only source of funding for Wags and help pay for the vaccines, microchip spay/neuter and the transport from Mississippi for the lucky dogs who get posted for adoption and fine loving homes. What little is left after those expenses helps pay for food and vet care for all the other dogs and of course, the multitude of other expenses that come from running a rescue.
Almost all of our dogs are in Mississippi and come up by Transport, dogs are listed along the Transport route or in an area where we may have volunteers who can help transport the dogs. Sometimes we’re able to bring up dogs into a foster home in the northeast, we always need foster homes!
