Meet Grace
Some dogs are rescued because there was a plan.
Grace was rescued because someone simply couldn't leave her behind.
Grace was found wandering between two abandoned homes east of Dallas alongside her siblings, and possibly her mother. Two of the female dogs had given birth just days apart on filthy porches littered with broken glass, trash, fleas, and swarms of flies. Their ears were covered in painful fly bites that had bled for weeks. Kind neighbors and the local mail carrier did everything they could, bringing food and fresh water, but they couldn't keep the dogs safe.
A rescue family stepped up to save the two mama dogs and their newborn puppies. They had absolutely no room for another dog.
Then Grace walked up.
She didn't bark. She didn't run away.
She simply greeted them with the gentlest smile, hopeful eyes, and the sweetest heart imaginable.
They looked into those soulful eyes and realized leaving her behind would mean leaving her to an unknown fate.
So despite having a full house already, they made room for one more.
By God's grace... Grace was saved.
Now she's hoping someone will give her the one thing she's likely never had.
A forever home.
Grace is approximately one year old and appears to be a Black Mouth Cur, Pit Bull mix, with a little "who knows what else" sprinkled in. She weighs about 60 pounds of pure love.
Having likely spent her entire life surviving on the streets, new experiences can still be a little scary. She takes time to adjust, but once she realizes she's safe, her beautiful personality begins to shine. Every day she grows a little braver, a little more confident, and a little more trusting.
Grace is:
Potty trained
Wonderful with children
Great with other dogs
Affectionate and gentle
A professional sunbather
Loves rolling in the grass
Convinced she's a 60-pound lap dog
Happiest when she's touching her favorite person
Grace doesn't ask for much.
A soft bed.
A patient family.
A hand to hold.
A place where she'll never have to wonder where her next meal is coming from or whether she'll make it through another night.
Despite everything she's endured, the world never hardened her heart. It's almost as if she somehow knew that one day someone would finally come for her.
Now she's waiting for the family who will never let her down again.
If you're looking for a loyal companion with endless love to give, Grace is waiting to meet you.
