Sally is 2.5 yrs old. This gentle and sweet beauty has a long and very sad story to tell:
My first owner was an autonomous mental patient who loved me, trained me very well, took good care of me. Sadly, one day, he experienced a total break down episode and winded up in a psychiatric hospital never to returned. No one knew that I was left locked up in his apartment for 3 solid weeks, surviving on a small bag of potatoes and drinking water from the toilet bowl.
Finally one day, the landlord came in and I was so frightened, I just bolted out. I ran aimless stray for 3 weeks, so afraid, suffering from severe hunger and thirst, until the local pound operator finally caught me. He treated my wounds and I felt so much better.
I was adopted by a young couple who had a dog and life was great until they expected their first child. You see, severe hunger rendered me protective of my food bowl around other dogs, so the young parents-to-be worried about their future baby’s safety while crawling on the floor and perhaps reaching for my food bowl.
So, their mom took me in temporarily while they are looking for another suitable home for me. Unfortunately, as much as grandma loves me, she cannot keep me for good because she too already has a large dog and she travels 6 months out of the year in a small van, this, apart from having to isolate both of us dogs at meal time.
I am an amazing dog otherwise:
I am well housebroken and non destructive
I know several commands, such as sit, come, stay, lay down, go to your bed, give the paw,
I am leashed trained, I am a good running companion.
I love swimming
I am gentle, loving, playful yet calm.
My ideal adoptive family would be experienced mature dog owners, teenage children if any, no other pets. I would love to live in a house with a securely fenced in backyard rather than living in an apartment or condo dwelling.
