Shadow is the kind of dog who seems to fit in just about anywhere. She is a calm, confident young Lab who loves being part of the action but is equally happy stretching out for a nap when the day winds down.
Shadow is incredibly people-focused and thrives on attention, praise, and spending time with her family. She is affectionate without being demanding and loves staying close to her people. She has been welcoming to new people and dogs and has shown no possessive tendencies in her foster home.
This smart girl is highly treat and praise motivated, making her a great candidate for continued training. She is already extremely well-mannered, obedient, and responsive. Shadow walks nicely on leash, and comes running when called. She enjoys interacting with her people and is eager to learn.
In the house, Shadow is a dream. She kennels well, sleeps quietly through the night, and is generally very quiet overall. She isn't much of a barker but will politely whine when she needs to go outside. While she had a few potty accidents when she first arrived, a consistent schedule and refresher training quickly got her back on track.
Like many Labs, Shadow appreciates a little supervision around food and may help herself to snacks left within reach if given the opportunity. The good news is that she has already made great progress with impulse-control training and continues to improve.
Shadow enjoys playing and has plenty of energy for adventures, but she isn't hyperactive. She adapts well to changes in routine and balances her playful side with a calm, easygoing temperament. When playing with other dogs, she can occasionally get a little enthusiastic in that classic young Lab fashion, but she settles down quickly and returns to her usual relaxed self.
