Meet Uma! Her name is special, because it stands for "Unidad Motorizada Aguada" (Aguada Motorized Unit). She was rescued by our neighboring Aguada, PR police department when found alone on May 7th on a busy highway. They called us (The Puerto Rico Dog Fund - aka PRDF) to take care of her and she is such a joy!
At her first vetting appointment the next day, the vet estimated her at 8 weeks old, so as of 6/4 she is 12 weeks old of puppy love, curiosity, snuggles, and shenanigans. She now weighs 14 lbs, and has received her first two puppy shots, Bordetela, and been on her NextGard Plus preventative meds. She is doing great in her PR foster, that has a few dogs of their own, and loves to explore the beach. She's learning recall, and is a happy girl!
Are you thinking you might be the perfect home for Uma? Fill out our application (prdf.org) and a teammate will reach out to speak with you.
Follow The Puerto Rico Dog Fund on IG and FB to keep track of all our dogs and the work we do on the island. Thank you for considering adopting a Puerto Rico Sato!
