Let us introduce you to this special boy. Blackie came to Starfish Animal Rescue in May. Blackie was at first so scared and anxious that we knew he just needed time to decompress and trust. That worked like a charm!

Today, we know the real Blackie (also lovingly called Shadow):

When he bonds with his person, he becomes their shadow—loyal and always by your side
He needs patience, understanding, and love to truly thrive
About 1.5 years old and weighs around 40 lbs
Fully housebroken
Crate trained (though hed much rather be with you!)
Loves dogs his size, but is not suited for homes with small dogs

Blackie is ready for a fresh start with someone who will accept him, fears and all. He would love a home where he can go on walks (he does amazing on a leash!) and spend plenty of time with his person.

The adoption fee of $300 will include spay/neuter, microchip, age-appropriate/required vaccinations, treatment for heartworm, and any other necessary medical treatment to ensure a healthy new pup for your family.
