Deacon's journey hasn't been an easy one. He was originally brought to a shelter in Texas in December 2024 and spent over a year there, becoming their longest resident. As his time was running out, he got a second chance when he was transported tp Iowa to find the loving forever home he truly deserves with out the risk of time running out.

This boy loves to play, whether it's with people or other dogs, especially those who can match his size and energy. He may need a controlled introduction to new canine friends, but once he realizes they're ready to have fun, his playful spirit shines instantly.

Deacon is also a smart boy who knows sit and down. He enjoys learning, especially when there's a little fun involved, and he's always ready to show off his skills. He loves car rides and enjoys the water, making him the perfect adventure buddy for someone who wants a dog to join in on life's outings.

With people, Deacon can be a little shy at first, particularly around men, but give him a toy or a few treats, and you'll quickly see his walls come down. Before long, he'll be leaning his whole body into you, soaking up affection and asking for more ear scratches and butt rubs, his absolute favorites!

Deacon is fully potty-trained and crate-trained, making him an easy addition to a home. He would do best with children who are old enough to understand and respect his boundaries.
