Meet Sturgill!

Sturgill is a sweet, affectionate, and exuberant boy who loves being close to his people. One of his favorite things is wiggling right between your legs for pets - if you're looking for a dog who wants to be part of the action and soak up affection, Sturgill may be your guy!

He's also a playful, energetic dog with a smart little brain. Sturgill already knows sit and down, is very responsive to his handlers, and is motivated by treats, making him an eager candidate for learning even more. He does especially well meeting new people outside of the home and enjoys having positive experiences with his humans.

Sturgill will do best in a low-traffic, adult household with an experienced dog owner who understands canine body language and is comfortable managing introductions. He may enjoy living with another similarly playful dog, provided they are a good match.

Because Sturgill can be fearful of unfamiliar people approaching his home, he needs an adopter who will take introductions seriously and set him up for success. When someone new is coming over, introductions should happen slowly and in a controlled way, ideally starting outside the home.
