Cole and Chance are a bonded pair of purebred, five year-old black brothers. They live in Thompson, Ohio just south of Madison.

Their mom died tragically and unexpectedly. She was diagnosed with cancer in January and passed away within a week. She was only 58.

These were her dogs. She got them after her son passed away a few years ago to help her with her grief. Both she and her husband adored them.

Their Dad travels a lot for work and he’s had family and friends take care of the boys, but that’s not going to be good for the long-term.

Purebred Labs - Mom was American. Dad was English. They came from a small breeder outside of Coshocton. There were two puppies left and rather than leave one they took them both. The boys are very bonded and they need to go together.

They love to be outside and run, but they live in the house and they’re completely housebroken. They aren’t crated because they are trustworthy.

They are fantastic with young children. And are often around their dad’s grandchildren. They have not been around other dogs much, or cats but with a slow introduction could be fine.

They are trained to an invisible fence and they definitely need a house that has a large area to run and is fenced in to keep them safe.

One is neutered because he had an undescended testicle. The other is not, but the owner will take care of the cost of neutering for the right home.

They are not used to walking on a leash and definitely pull so that’s something that will need to be worked on.

The boys are typical Labs. Very playful and loving. And their dad wants nothing but the best for them, as much as it’s breaking his heart.

This will be a private adoption between the owner and the adapter, however, LELRR will provide a legal document and assist in the process.

They are agile, keen swimmers with a strong work ethic, making them excellent hunting and service dogs. Their glossy black coat is low maintenance and sheds minimally, while their friendly temperament makes them great family pets. Black Labs are known for their outgoing personalities and eagerness to please, making them loving companions in various roles and settings.
