Candy - Black Labrador Retriever and Pit Bull Terrier Dog for Adoption in Mckeesport, Pennsylvania

Candy is as sweet as her name suggests. She’s a bit on the shy uncertain side right now. She wants so bad to be friends. She does the happy paw dance when you approach her kennel with the leash but then when you open the door she thinks maybe she’ll just stay where she feels comfortable. She retreats to the back and is afraid to get leashed up. But eventually with some sweet talking and reassurance she slowly comes out.
She’s learning that good things come to those who get a leash on. She’s learning that a walk outside and some gentle pets will make things feel a lot better.
This dog doesn’t have a mean bone in her body. Just a sweet, gentle, friendly girl who would love a friend. She’s just not sure who to put her trust in.
A few calming pets, yummy treats and some soft words will go a long way in helping her with her confidence.
