Ludo had a tough start in life. Arriving as an 8-week-old puppy, he came down with a severe case of pneumonia. To save his life, he had to spend critical weeks in isolated care with very limited handling during an essential period for puppy socialization. Because of that early medical bump in the road, the big wide world can feel a bit overwhelming, and he is naturally cautious around new faces.
The Scoop on Ludo:
His True Personality: Once Ludo knows you're in his inner circle, his true colors shine! He is playful, affectionate, delightfully silly, and loves spending quality time with his trusted humans.
Meeting New Friends: Ludo is initially standoffish with strangers and can react defensively (barking or growling) if unfamiliar people enter his personal space too quickly. However, he actually does great with a simple "Transfer of Trust" introduction! When introduced by a handler he trusts-showing him that the new person is safe with gentle touches and warm interactions-he takes his cues from us and relaxes much faster.
Independent Spirit: Even when he accepts someone new into his space, he may choose to play it cool at first by ignoring gentle attention until he feels fully ready to initiate affection on his own timeline.
His Ideal Home:
Ludo is seeking a patient, understanding home (or adult-only family) comfortable with giving a sensitive dog time to adjust. A low-traffic home that can commit to structured, safe introductions will allow Ludo's goofy, loving side to flourish.
