Onyx - Black Labrador Retriever and Mixed Breed Dog for Adoption in Fenton, Michigan

Meet your future best friend, Onyx!

This lively, rambunctious pup is full of curiosity, energy, and puppy fun! While we don’t know who the parents are, one thing we can all agree on is that these pups are likely to grow into big dogs — and they’ll need a home prepared for everything that comes with raising a large, active puppy.

That means keeping them safe and appropriately managed through their mouthy stages of development, while providing plenty of exercise, outdoor time, enrichment, and positive outlets for all that growing-body energy. Continued training will also be important, including leash skills, crate training, potty training, and everyday manners.

These pups are going to need families who are ready to be patient, consistent, and active. With the right structure, training, and plenty of opportunities to explore and burn energy, they have everything they need to grow into wonderful, confident adult dogs.

• Around 3 months old
• Currently 18 lbs. and growing!
• Good with kids, dogs and cats
• Adoption fee: $400

The black Labrador Retriever is a popular and versatile breed known for its friendly nature, intelligence, and loyalty. They are agile, keen swimmers with a strong work ethic, making them excellent hunting and service dogs. Their glossy black coat is low maintenance and sheds minimally, while their friendly temperament makes them great family pets. Black Labs are known for their outgoing personalities and eagerness to please, making them loving companions in various roles and settings.

The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
