PRINCE NAVEEN LAMBY BEAR BESTIE

Black Labrador Retriever, Pit Bull Terrier
🇺🇸
Friendswood, Texas
May 30th
male, large, adult

DESCRIPTION

Prince Naveen looks like the wise old neighborhood dog who has seen a few things but knows where the best couch spot is in every house. The little dusting of salt-and-pepper on his face makes people assume he is a senior gentleman, but surprise… this sweet boy is estimated to be just under 3 years old. We suspect he may be a Lab mix, but rescue rules apply, so breed and birthday are our best guess. What we do know is that he is absolutely built for soft blankets, stuffed toys, and being deeply loved by his people.

Go watch Prince Naveen on YouTube, then come right back to read more about this Lamby-carrying couch prince.

Prince Naveen is currently fostered in a loving home with multiple other dogs, including a Chihuahua, and his foster describes him as wonderfully easygoing with everyone. He is not the life-of-the-party type- no chaos or wrestling matches with this gentleman. He is more of a quiet observer, happy to roam around, check in with his people, and carry his beloved Lamby toy around like his life-long bestie. His foster says he adores that stuffed toy and proudly totes it room to room, which of course is as AWWWW-worthy as you would imagine.

He has excellent house manners and is both house-trained and crate-trained. He loves lounging on the couch, enjoys affection, and has such a soft, connected way about him with people. The afternoon we spent with him outside his foster home he showed us how loving he is- seeking out cuddles, rolling over happily for attention, and handling all kinds of touching and handling with ease. He gives the impression of a dog who may have spent some time surviving on his own at some point, but who never stopped wanting the comfort of home life. There is something very tender about him.

With other dogs, Prince Naveen is socially appropriate, calm, and communicative. He greets politely, shares space well, and tends to simply walk away if another dog becomes annoying or overwhelming. He gave a few very fair, appropriate corrections to an overly pushy puppy during playgroup, then immediately moved on with his day like a mature, cool adult. He is not looking for drama. He is looking for peace, snacks, and a good ol’ comfy couch.
He walks nicely on leash, corrects easily if distracted, and overall has a very manageable medium energy level. His foster mentioned he can bark when food is being prepared because the man is passionate about snacks, but honestly… relatable. Because he can be vocal and occasionally likes to remind passing cars of the speed limit, apartment life may depend a bit on the setup and the approach in the home. Prince Naveen will need a cat-free home because while his foster home has cats, interactions are avoided simply because he is too eager and has not shown an understanding that the swats are not sweet but in fact a request for space and lack of interest in being his friend. Despite his best attempts, cats are simply not the right fit for him.

If you are looking for a gentle, affectionate dog with soulful eyes, excellent couch instincts, and a deep emotional attachment to a stuffed Lamby, Prince Naveen is ready to become your favorite part of every single day.
