DESCRIPTION

Blue is the truly the kind of dog who feels like part of the family pretty much instantly. Movie night on the couch? He’s there. Rainstorm turning the backyard into a muddy playground? He’s thrilled. A busy house full of dogs weaving around the kitchen while life happens loudly all around him? Blue handles it all with the same happy, easygoing attitude. He is estimated to be around 1.5-2 years old and appears to be some sort of bully mix, though rescue rules absolutely apply and breed and age are simply our best guess.

Go watch Blue on YouTube, then come right back to read more about this puddle-jumping best boy. https://youtu.be/7cQpNCjxl8o?si=dSr0nA8kgMSpC_Ld

Blue is currently living in a home with six small dogs and one large dog and has settled into the mix beautifully. He loves playful dogs, especially chase-style games, but he is also socially respectful and does a really nice job reading the room when another dog needs space or a break. He is goofy, playful, and energetic with dog friends, but indoors he’s surprisingly easy to live with.

One of the things we love most about Blue is how balanced he feels. He absolutely has a playful side and can get wonderfully silly when toys or dog friends are involved, but he is not constantly “on.” After playtime, he’s more than happy to lounge on the couch, relax nearby, or quietly enjoy whatever the rest of the house is doing. During several days of storms and rain, Blue’s response was essentially, “Best weather ever.” While other dogs debated whether puddles were safe, Blue fully committed to joyful muddy zoomies and chase games through the rain.

Blue has wonderful house manners, is crate trained, and overall gives off that rare “already knows how to live in a home” energy. He is young and playful but settles in easily, enjoys toys- stuffies especially, without being destructive, and genuinely seems happiest just being included in daily life. Whether that means lounging during a quiet evening or joining in on a little backyard chaos, he adapts beautifully.

Socially, Blue is a very friendly and affectionate dog. He immediately connects with people and is very affectionate naturally. He approaches new situations with curiosity and confidence, and even when something makes him unsure initially, he recovers quickly and works up the courage to investigate instead of shutting down. It is a really lovely quality that makes him feel emotionally steady and resilient.
Blue also showed very nice manners around food and treats with other dogs. He waits patiently for his turn, shares space respectfully, and shows no interest in interfering with what another dog was eating. He walks easily into his kennel when asked, will sit calmly once inside, and consistently showed how cooperative and people-oriented he is.

Blue was also introduced to cats and approached the interaction with respectful caution. He showed no aggression or reactivity and, as he became more comfortable, remained friendly while continuing to give the cat appropriate space and not chasing when the cat moved. Based on what we observed, we think Blue could potentially live peacefully with a calm, dog-savvy cat with proper introductions and management.

Blue would love a home with playful dogs who enjoy social interactions and play, but we could also see him doing well with a lower-energy companion that appreciates a respectful, friendly housemate. More than anything, Blue is ready to slide into someone’s life and immediately make it brighter, better… Bluer! Couch cuddles and carrying his stuffy around is guaranteed to make life better!
